December Highlights: EV Launches, Borderless Trade and Global Expansion Across West Africa

The launch of REVOO electric motorcycles in Nigeria highlights growing demand for affordable, low-emission urban transport, while AfCFTA’s push to unlock Africa’s $30 billion automotive aftermarket through harmonised standards and improved logistics is set to strengthen regional supply chains. Further underlining market confidence, Yango Motors’ West African debut in Côte d’Ivoire reflects increasing international interest in the region, as global brands introduce competitively priced, energy-efficient vehicles supported by local financing.

Success at Automechanika Dubai

In parallel with these industry developments, the West Africa Automotive Show team has remained actively engaged on the global stage. During Automechanika Dubai, the WAAS team met with international manufacturers, suppliers and industry stakeholders, further strengthening relationships and expanding WAAS’s international exhibitor base.

As a result, new exhibitors have been confirmed from the UAE, China, Turkey and Poland, reinforcing WAAS’s role as the leading gateway into the West African automotive market.

WAAS is also proud to officially welcome Momin Oil Industry – Hagan Lubricants as an exhibitor and Badge Sponsor for WAAS 2026.

As the year draws to a close, the WAAS team would like to wish all exhibitors, visitors, VIPs and partners a Merry Festive Period and a prosperous, successful 2026. We look forward to welcoming the global automotive community back to Lagos for another landmark edition of the West Africa Automotive Show.
