Sanwo-Olu opens vehicle assembly plant in Lagos

The GAC Car Assembly Plant in Lagos has officially opened under the direction of Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos State. This was revealed by the governor in a statement on Tuesday. He claimed that the collaboration between Lagos State and CIG Motors was a crucial step towards increased industrialization, employment opportunities, and technical education for the state's citizens.

"This partnership has flourished, giving birth to the GAC Motor Nigeria CKD factory and supporting the growth and expansion of our LAGRIDE project," he said. "It was born in the challenging days of the pandemic." These programmes demonstrate our dedication to advancement, creativity, and Lagos State's betterment.

"The opening of this car assembly factory is a shining example of how welcoming our state is to investments that support the creation of jobs, income, skills, and entrepreneurial opportunities. This investment has far-reaching effects outside of the automotive industry. It has brought in a new era of work, giving our hardworking youths well-deserved jobs and drastically lowering Lagos' unemployment rate.
